Our Christian Values
Our vision draws upon Christian values; our key Christian values and morals developed in conjunction with staff, pupils, parents and governors are – Friendship, Courage and Confidence. We call these our Terrific Values.
Believe: The value of friendship encourages us to show kindness and compassion to all God’s children regardless of gender, ethnicity or ability. We develop loving, trusting and respectful relationships with the whole school community.
I smile and welcome everyone – Friendship
'Love one another as I have loved you' (John 15:12)
Inspire: The value of courage encourages us to show perseverance and resolve. To never give up thereby developing our confidence and determination to succeed.
I keep trying, even when it is hard – Courage
'Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid' (Joshua 1:9)
Achieve: The children at St Andrew’s show confidence, developing their unique talents, ambition and hopes for their future. Taking responsibility for their own learning and development.
I have a positive ‘can do’ attitude – Confidence
'I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you a future and a hope' (Jeremiah 29:11)
Curriculum Intent
We aim to provide a broad and balanced education, giving all of our pupils, particularly the most disadvantaged and those with SEND, the knowledge, skills and memorable experiences they need to succeed in life and to be able to apply these in relevant situations. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of our community, with a particular emphasis on our core values: Friendship, Courage and Confidence. Through these values, we aim to support pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development to enable them to appreciate and understand the community in which they live and the world beyond. Our Christian distinctiveness supports our children through a nurturing and inspiring curriculum. Our aim is that children feel safe to explore and question throughout their learning, with a love of reading that will ensure that they are prepared for the next stage of their education.
We believe our curriculum will inspire children to achieve.
Our Curriculum intent is based around what we aim for a St Andrew’s child to be. We recognise that we play a very important part in the journey each of children will take in their lives, through the opportunities we provide them. Our curriculum intent is closely linked to the Church of England’s intent for education.
